Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Milan

The Short Version

I am Alex Carter, based in Milan, and I have spent the last few years chronicling my experiences at fitness clubs across Italy.

This site exists because I grew tired of selecting gyms from ads and vague recommendations, only to find the reality differed from expectations. I wanted concrete, honest insight into what these places were actually like. Since I couldn't find it, I chose to create it.

How This Started

My fitness routine began at a small club near Via dei Benessere 12 in Milan. It wasn't perfect, but it was approachable, affordable, and it helped me stay consistent.

After that place closed, I saw how fast the fitness scene in Italy was changing. New clubs opened, new concepts emerged, and marketing grew louder than the real member experience.

I started trying different gyms and classes, jotting notes after every visit. Over time those notes formed this site, built to help others make clearer choices.

My Approach to Reviews

Every review here comes from real visits and real time spent inside the club. I focus on practical details that matter when selecting a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Spend enough time to understand routines, peak hours, and patterns
  • Visit on different days and at various times
  • Try more than one training format and instructor
  • Use amenities regularly to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • Talk to other members about what stays consistent and what does not
  • Write notes immediately after each visit

I update reviews when circumstances change significantly: renovations, management changes, pricing adjustments, or new facilities. Each article shows its last update date so you know how current the information is.

What I Look For

My priorities may differ from yours, so here is what matters most to me when evaluating a fitness center:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel genuinely well-designed for members, with respectful boundaries and a calm atmosphere?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there enough variety? Do things get fixed promptly?

Crowd Management: Can you actually train during your preferred time without constant waiting?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness shows how seriously management treats the member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of training and writing, I live and work in Milan. This project is here to make fitness choices easier and more transparent for people looking for the right environment.
